The islands surrounding Krabi makes Krabi one of the best places to visit for those who love water adventures. Here are some of our recommendations on the islands for paddleboarding, white water rafting, snorkelling and kayaking!
Paddle Board

Attempt to ride the currents against a luxurious backdrop you paddle your way through the calm waters of Railay Beach. This is an enjoyable way to spend your afternoon as you soak in the sights and sounds of the ocean around you.
Not to fret, this is a perfect place for beginners to try their hand at paddleboarding as well! We’d recommend joining a day tour for Railay Beach that would bring you paddle boarding and rock climbing along the limestone mountains, to make the most of your day. Check out one of the tours here!
White Water Rafting

An ideal adventure for all adrenaline junkies, white water rafting along the Song Phraek River in Phang Nga is one of Krabi’s most sought after activities. There is no better way to enjoy the beautiful scenery than by rafting down the river.
This exciting and thrilling adventure is perfect for first-timers as well and don’t worry, some training and introduction would be provided before you embark on this adventure. You can find out more about a day’s tour to the river here.
Snorkelling

There are many islands in Krabi that provides you with a wonderful snorkelling experience. We’d recommend the island of Koh Gai or otherwise known as Chicken Island. It is the perfect place for snorkelling with crystal clear waters. Explore the abundance of marine life as you snorkel in the waters.
There are many booths along Ao Nang Beach where you may purchase a ticket to Chicken Island. There is also an entrance fee to the island as it’s a part of the Had Noppharatta – Mu Koh Phi Phi National Park and the fee varies according to the season from 50 to 200 THB.
Chicken Island and Tub Island are connected by a sandbank so during low tide, you can walk over to either island to explore the waters surrounding the island.
Kayaking

Just like snorkelling, most day island trips offer kayaking along the shores of that island. One that we found unique was kayaking along the shores of Hong Lagoon. It is the perfect place for kayaking as it gives you the opportunity to also explore caves and a hidden lagoon.
The waters are calm and while kayaking, you can also observe the aquatic animals swimming in the crystal clear waters. Hong Lagoon is a short longtail boat ride away from Krabi Town and it’s a place we’d highly recommend as you can also snorkel after kayaking your way around the island!
