A literal hidden gem is Poppy Pops which is located on the uppermost floor of JEM Shopping Centre. Though the place had garnered large crowds during peak periods, many were initially unaware of the cafe’s existence due to its obscure location. Nonetheless, it’s something worth discovering!
Tucked away in a humble abode on the roof of the mall, the cafe has a lovely and homely atmosphere that gives off a very welcoming vibe. The walls are filled with adorable popsicle doodles that were drawn from chalk. And the ceiling and walls are draped with dangling vines that create a very enchanted forest area.
However, the cafe’s takeaway has got to be their overarching rooftop view. Surrounded by potted plants and strong winds, customers usually do not mind the wait because of these factors. There are benches outside of the cafe for those who want to hang out.

The Basil Pesto Pasta is one of the popular choices. This generous plate of pasta is topped with turkey bacon and other accompanying garden vegetables which gives the dish a very distinct fatty and herbal taste. It’s served piping hot too which makes it perfect for the chilly environment.
Additionally, for desserts, the Brown Butter Waffle is one of the top favorites among customers. The waffle is whipped with maple brown butter and salted beer sauce. The combination of these mixtures makes waffles taste both sweet and tangy at every bite. This flavor is honestly more appropriate for those who enjoy the beverage as the after-taste of the beer may be overwhelming for some. The waffle has a very crispy outside and fluffy inside, creating the perfect texture for every waffle out there. To top it all off, getting a glass of warm matcha and cold mocha helps to complete the meal. The mocha wasn’t too sweet nor creamy, which made it the perfect thirst quencher after a rich meal. The matcha on the other hand was light and creamy which runs smoothly down the throat.
