LA VIE

Formerly known as the online patisserie shop Reverie Patisserie, they have rebranded themselves into LA VIE, a minimalist-style cafe that also boasts an art exhibition. They serve up gourmet French pastries and drinks, which you can devour while admiring the paintings of local artists that are hung up for your viewing pleasure all around the cafe. Be sure to order their signature Watermelon Strawberry Cake ($9.50), or Chloe (which is a lychee rose cake going at $9), and pair them up with their Ultraviolet drink ($6).

Smile Dessert Bugis 酒窝甜品武吉士

If you haven’t already heard, there is a new three-storey pink-themed dessert cafe in town! This cafe is every dessert lover’s dream: extremely IG-worthy, and even comes with a gigantic ball pit and classy pretty-in-pink decorations! You can even consider this dessert cafe a late-night haunt as it plans to open 24 hours in the future. Currently, its operating hours are until 3am. Their signature desserts include Chocolate Dirty Souffle ($12.90), Taro Matcha Snow Ice ($16.90), and Mango Pomelo Sago Mousse Cake ($8.90).

Easties, rejoice! A Beautiful Day has opened at Changi City Point, and it is no less than aesthetically pleasing to the eye – with their pastel pink floral and safari-themed interiors. The cafe also has an outdoor al fresco beer garden and a homey “living room”. A Beautiful Day offers a full-day brunch menu, pastries, desserts such as Pink Sugar Bandung Souffle Pancakes ($15.90), unique snacks such as Mala Popcorn Chicken ($13.90), and signature drinks such as the Red Velvet Latte ($7).

The Neptune

From the likes of Apollo Coffee Bar, Columbus Coffee Co., Lunar Coffee Brewers, and Atlas Coffeehouse comes a new venture: The Neptune, a chic minimalist brunch cafe located in the streets of Katong. Their interior mosaic tiles, furniture, and glass windows boast a pastel palette of soothing light green and white. If you’re a fan of Atlas Coffeehouse signature drinks The Cosmos and The Milky Way ($7.50 each), you’ll be happy to know that they serve these here as well. Pair these drinks with their signature scone-filled platter: Big In Japan ($16.90), and you’re good to go!

Tucked away in CHIJMES is DOUGH COFFEE, a must-try Korean-inspired bakery cafe. Brought to you by the same team that helms Glyph Supply Co. and Runes, DOUGH aims to create a safe space that is dedicated to hearty food and comfort bakes. Try their signature bakes Strawberry Brioche ($5), Matcha Mochi ($5), and the Apple Caramel Cake ($4.50); and pair them with any of DOUGH’s large selection of coffee for the best experience.

PRAIRIE by Craftsmen

The latest in the Craftsmen Specialty Coffee chain is PRAIRIE by Craftsmen, located in Cluny Court, a stone’s throw away from Botanic Gardens MRT station. If you wish to dine outside, there is an outdoor “greenhouse” dining area that also has a glass roof. However, if you wish to escape the blistering heat, the indoor air-conditioned space might be better. The desserts are recommended when you dine here, so be sure to head for the Basque Burnt Cheesecake ($14), Passionfruit Meringue Tart ($15), or Creme Brulee ($14). Pair these with any of their specialty coffee and thank me later!

La Fez

Branding itself as a pink-themed Moroccan-inspired wellness cafe and bakery, La Fez is located at East Coast Road. When you walk in, it’ll feel like you’re stepping into Marrakesh (also known as the “Rose City”) for a holiday. They offer Mediterranean dishes, such as Majorelle Shakshuka with Feta Cheese ($19.90), Kasbah Brioche French Toast ($18.90), and Ziz Latkes Potato Pancakes ($12.90), just to name a few. Tiong Bahru Bakery should be known by cafe hoppers as one of the best French bakeries in Singapore, with outlets spread all across the island. Tiong Bahru Bakery (The Foothills), their 7th outlet, is located at Fort Canning Park where The Fabulous Baker Boy was previously located, and is swimming-pool-themed. It is recommended to come down for an early breakfast before the crowd comes in.
