For the culture vultures and the history buffs who appreciate accessibility to the sights around the city above all else, this is the area of your choice. With the high concentrations of main attractions in the area, a little stroll around goes a long way. Public transport in this area is also highly efficient so you will not have to worry about moving from one point to the other. For those on a short stay, Dubrovnik Old Town is perfect!

Just 10 minutes away from the Old Town, you will find Lapad which lies on a bay. Best for families because of the wide space for children to run about and explore, this spot is also well visited by locals and tourists alike. With many seafront hotels and a good mix of restaurants in the area, you can get comfortable here without being too far away from the historical city center.

Located near the Lovrijenac Fortress which sits majestically on top of a hill, Pile offers incredible views of the medieval walls that the Old Town is known for. This spot is also home to attractions like an 11th-century fort and a whopping three beaches to choose from. One of the best things about the area is also that while it is not too far from the Old Town, you are safe from the crazy crowds of people, enjoying a little peace during your stay.

Ploce

If you are looking to truly pamper yourself, Ploce boasts a variety of options for luxury hotels. Just east of the Old Town, this area is also known for the romantic allure thanks to the many elegant villas along the coast. With many seafront streets to explore, this area also features the most accessible beach, Banje, Museum of Modern Art, and even Mount Srd which looms above the historic center.

The quietest part of the city, Babin Kuk, is green and serene, perfect for those looking for some peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Here is also where you can indulge in a variety of watersports and enjoy nature. With a number of sand-and-pebble beaches and coves, there is nothing to do but soak in the beauty of nature and the sun!
