2.5-Hours Wheel Throwing Pottery Class

"Wheel throwing uses the electric pottery wheel. Your foot presses on the automated pedal to control the speed of the spinning wheel. Wheel throwing requires coordination of foot and hands.
You can get your first taste of ceramics here with the guidance of our experienced teachers. This is a one-off session, for you to experience the electric wheel at our Joo Chiat Place studio.

The workshop begins with a wheel-throwing demonstration. Please be punctual as the steps are crucial for learning and you will not want to miss this! Classes will start promptly.

Program:
1) Introduction to pottery
2) Preparation of clay
3) Demonstration of pottery techniques
4) Hands-on
5) Wrap up / Clean up"

Inclusive Of:

• Fees include teachers' guidance, materials, tools, firing and glazing with colours. Students will get to keep 1 of their favourite artworks from this class. You may keep more pieces, the teacher will explain during the class. Your handmade pieces will be available for collection after 8 weeks, as they require glazing with colour and 2 rounds of firing.

Experience's Remarks:

• The Wheel Throwing Pottery Class is applicable for Age 12 years and above​
• Kindly arrive 15 minutes before the class start
• Please come in comfortable attire. Ladies/Girls with long hair are advised to tie up their hair during the lesson, and preferably have short finger nails.
  

2.5-Hours Handbuilding Manual Wheel Pottery Class

"Handbuilding uses the manual spinning wheel, we call 'the banding wheel'.
Want to find out if you enjoy the process of molding clay with your bare hands?
Our experienced teachers will guide you to make creative clay artworks. You will use one hand to spin the wheel, and then shape and mold your piece. This is a one-off session, for you to be relaxed and creative on the manual spinning wheel at our Joo Chiat Place studio.
Notice how clay can be shaped by your hands and be moulded into wares of all sorts of shapes and sizes!

• This class is suitable for all ages Adults & Children (Individuals 9 years & up) with little to no pottery experience.
• Children aged 8 years and below, and individuals with special needs should be accompanied by 1 caregiver; Or at the teachers' discretion, we will do the 'My Cup' decorating workshop for very young children who are not able to make the fundamental cylinder vessel.
